Feather picking is one of the most dreaded problems of African grey owners. First . it is not a pretty singht to see a parrot with mutilated feathers. Secondly , the misconseption that most feather picking is doe to boredom incorrectly gives the imporession that the owner is a bad caretaker.This photo's Grey parrot (name is fuku) was picking own feathers from 02/2004 to 09/2005.That time ,he could not fly .In this photo, you can see 2 long feathers. but after few days , he was picked both of this. I was shocked ,worried and said[why?]. I was thinking well . then....... 大型インコの中でヨウムは特に神経質。遊んでもらえないといらいらいら。いらいらして「毛引き」をしてしまいやすい。このヨウム（ふくちゃん）は前の飼い主さんが遊んであげれなくなったのでうちにきた。そう、うちに来るちょっと前から毛引きがはじまったのだ。羽をくわえて無邪気に遊んでいる姿を見ると、かわいらしさを通り越して「これだけ自由にさせてあげてるのに何に問題があるの？何が不満なの？」と、悲しくなる。上の写真のように羽が伸びてきて喜んでいるのもつかの間。数日後には風切り羽をひっこ抜いて血を出していました。もちろん飛ぶことなど出来ない（襟足すっきり）。あ～～、どうしたらいいの？何が問題なの？なんで抜いちゃうの？それはそれは悩みました。そして・・・。Lo
